Niagara Falls Might Need Help

October 18, 2011

I love visiting Niagara Falls. It is not far from where I live and I hit some of those stellar Niagara region wineries along the way. Once I get to the Falls (as I affectionately call it because we’re so tight), I enjoy partaking in the plethora of entertainment options available to tourists, for just the price of an appendage, eyeball or healthy head of undyed hair. During the day I hit the midway so I can show off my ridiculous skee ball skills. Then I visit the glow-in-the-dark mini-putt, which is pretty much much regular mini golf with the lights turned off and neon paint splattered everywhere. I visit the wax museum, the giant Ferris wheel, and then I hit the casino. I like to play the slots. More than that, though, I like to watch other people play the slots. Especially the old ones with the blue hair; they are my favourite. Those bitches be crazy.

The thing about Niagara Falls is that the place has not changed since I  first became acquainted with it at the age of about eleven. I mean, the Ferris wheel is new-ish but that is about all. This is why I am sharing some photos from the Movie Land Wax Museum in Niagara Falls for this totally tubular Time Warp Tuesday.

Austin Powers

Austin Powers. Groovy, Baby.

Blues Brothers

Blues Brothers

what movie was this

what movie was this again? Something about a fish?

Mr T

I pity the fool who doesn't know who this is.

Moulin Rouge

Moulin Rouge

Michael Jackson

So lifelike.

Um, the wax museum might need to invest in some updates. I don’t know, you tell me.

Wax museums are creepy even if the displays are old and peeling. Actually, especially if they are old and peeling.

I grew up not too far from Niagra Falls, so I used to visit often. I think they had several of those displays the last time I was there…in 1985.

I loved Niagra Falls! The wax museum? Not so much. 😉

Okay, since everyone is so creeped out by Wax figures, I am going to write about my brother’s most terrifying experience, which was almost entirely my fault. I will try to write about it next week.
